Even though we cannot physically welcome you back to the library yet, we are excited to connect with you virtually through #FSPLonline. We’re kicking off the summer with a new virtual program that invites participants to watch and discuss films.
Join the FSPL Kanopy Club each month as we watch and discuss a selected film available through Kanopy, our library’s free online movie streaming service. Films chosen will range from cinematic classics to recent releases so there’s something for everyone. Meetings are held online via Zoom and are scheduled for the second Monday of each month at 6:30pm.
Our first meeting will be on June 8th at 6:30pm to discuss Tortilla Soup (2001). Our staff previewed this selection and the overall consensus was a “thumb’s up!” Here is a little information about our first movie: “Retired Mexican-American chef Martin Naranjo shares an L.A. home with his three adult daughters. Though he long ago lost his ability to taste, Martin still lives to cook incredibly lavish dinners for his loved ones and to serve them in a family-style ritual at traditional sit-down meals. Although the women humor their father’s old-fashioned ways, each of them is searching for fulfillment outside the family circle. But they’ll all discover that the recipe for happiness may call for some unexpected ingredients.” (Rotten Tomatoes)
