Barb “Ms. Barb” Somma
Barb has been with the library since 2010. Before coming to the Frank Sarris Library she earned a B.S. in Elementary Education, and a Masters in Special Education. She has been working with children for the past 30 years in many venues: public/private schools, preschools, and afterschool programs. She also has two children of her own.
If you want to hear a great story, sing some songs and do awesome crafts then you need to meet Ms. Barb. Find her in the story time room on weekday mornings, leading story time, Little Picassos, Wiggles and Giggles, and Summer Quest. If she is not there, you’ll find her in her office busy planning the next great children’s program or event.
Amy Weir
Amy has been with the Library since 2007. Before coming to the library she earned a B.S in Elementary Education and a Masters in Library and Informational Sciences. Amy worked at the Children’s Museum of Pittsburgh and has worked as a librarian and a classroom substitute in the public school system. She has two children.
Ms. Amy brings a great love and knowledge of children’s and teen books to the library, maintaining and buying for our collection. She’s always ready to help you find the perfect book. When she is not stirring young minds you can find her spreading her love of books through outreach to local preschools and day care facilities.
