FSPL Fan Fest – Bringing Cosplay to the Community

Overview of Cosplay/Costumes at FSPL Fan Fest No pop culture convention is complete without cosplay! Anyone who comes to FSPL Fan Fest on Saturday, September 7, is welcome and encouraged to dress as a favorite character from a comic book, video game, anime, movie, television show, or other pop culture medium. The Tamburitzans are coming!

Tickets are now on sale to see the world-renowned ethnic dance troupe, The Tamburitzans, performing September 22 at 7:00 PM in the Canon-McMillan High School Auditorium.  The Tamburitzans is the longest-running U.S.-based folk ensemble dedicated to the performance of music, song, and dance of international cultures.  Tickets are $20 and proceeds benefit the Frank Sarris Public Library! The Carnival Came to Town

The carnival came to the library in May and what fun we had!  On Sunday, May 20, we hosted approximately 160 people for an afternoon of carnival games, fun activities and yummy food. There were 13 games to play including Fat Cat, Duck Pond, Magnetic Darts, Coke Toss, Pro Kick Soccer and Flip a Chick to name a few.  Frogs and chickens (all rubber, don’t worry) were flying, balls were rolling and hoops and darts were tossed as new memories were made.  Attikin Rothacher, a Teen Advisory Board…

Trivia Night of the Round Tables

If you are looking for something new and fun to do, grab some friends and pool your knowledge together at our after-hours trivia competition. Zachariah OHora Presents: My Cousin Momo

Breakfast with Santa

Guess who stopped by the library on Saturday, December 2?  The big guy himself..Santa Claus.  90+ people joined us for our first Breakfast with Santa.   Everyone enjoyed pancakes, sausage and other breakfast pastries while Santa made his way around the room.  Ms. Jan had everyone feeling festive and joining in for a rousing Christmas sing-along.  After breakfast, children had their pictures taken with Santa and made a Santa craft to take home.  What a great way to kick off…

Trivia Night of the Round Tables Returned for an Evening of Fun

On Saturday, October 21, six lively teams joined library staff and Teen Advisory Board members for the second Trivia Night of the Round Tables event.  Our teams included The Dumbledorks, Irish Wristwatches, The Pasta Bazoos, Penguins, Whizzes and Woof Pack.  The teams competed against each other, answering questions from twenty categories.  The most challenging category, based on the teams’ results, was Current Events – now we know what they need to brush up on!  In between the questions and answers,…
